Alden Update: 4 Months

Hi Everyone,

I cannot believe that I haven’t given an update on Alden for nearly 2 months now! The last time I wrote one was when he turned 3 months! Truth is, we have been so incredibly busy with having events and guests coming to visit back to back. However, it has all been such a great pleasure to hang out with our families & friends that are near and dear to our hearts the last few weeks.

Anyways, without further ado and before I start forgetting, let’s talk about Alden.

I knew that I could not wait for Alden to turn 4 months because we get to visit his pediatrician. We both knew that Alden had to be at least 17 pounds because he was getting so heavy! I mean, look at those chunky cheeks & thighs! Sure enough, the day we went for his wellness checkup, he was 18.9 lbs and 26 inches long! We have a big baby and we know that! 🙂 However, he is not overweight- our doctor assured us that he is just at a healthy weight and that he will shed some when he becomes more mobile. Which takes me to my next point..

Alden is getting a lot more mobile at this age. He could actually roll to his sides, but he couldn’t do the front to back and back to front yet. He could however, hold his head up like a pro! Also, he can hold on to fingers really well, which meant that each time I gave my fingers to him, he would want to try to get up.

Alden was also getting a lot more chatty at this age. And what I mean by chatty is that he loves to keep mommy entertained in the car on our morning commutes every day. He loves blowing bubbles and he has started to wanting t to put things in his mouth.

He is also staying up a lot longer and enjoys playing with his Nenek & Seth. I think he still has about 4 poopy diapers daily and he is still 100% breastfed, which makes mommy happy. Honestly, I don’t know how I would like it if I had to buy formula all the time. Buying diapers can already be a pinch. Speaking of breastfeeding, he can find mommy’s boobies at this age and loves to pull on her shirt when he’s nursing. Oh  my heart <3.

All in all – We are having a lot of fun with him now since his personality and character is starting to come through. But, we sure know we will miss him at this age.. (That’s why we need baby #2 =P)

We love you chunky!!

xoxo, Aza
